About MHPOD
Welcome to MHPOD: Mental Health Professional Online Development MHPOD is a new learning resource being developed for people working in mental health. Based on the national practice standards for mental health, it draws on the evidence base for mental health care and contemporary practice wisdom. Aims include supporting the mental health workforce, and improving access to evidence-based educational programs. Clinicians, consumers, carers and educators across the country have contributed to MHPOD, and we hope that you will find it useful. A number of sample topics are available here. MHPOD Pilot in NGO Services – Expression of InterestMHPOD (Mental Health Professional Online Development) consists of some seventy hours of online professional development, across 45 Topics, intended for people working in mental health. MHPOD is based on the National Practice Standards for the Mental Health Workforce. It is currently being used in public mental health services around Australia. AASW EndorsementMHPOD has recently been informed that CPD endorsement from the Australian Association of Social Workers has has been approved until January 2013. All MHPOD units attracts double CPD points, i.e. 2 points per hour, for participating AASW members. |

CPD PageThe MHPOD Project Team has been seeking CPD accreditation/endorsement for all MHPOD Topics with a number of professional organisations. A page has been set up on this website to provide a quick reference point for those wishing to claim time spent engaging with MHPOD topics. |
ACRRM AccreditationThe Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine has approved MHPOD for CPD purposes. ACRRM members participating in MHPOD are able to accrue 1 core point per hour of activity, with points capped at 30 core points per triennium. |
