MHPOD Pilot in NGO Services – Expression of Interest
MHPOD (Mental Health Professional Online Development) consists of some seventy hours of online professional development, across 45 Topics, intended for people working in mental health. MHPOD is based on the National Practice Standards for the Mental Health Workforce. It is currently being used in public mental health services around Australia. A full list of Topics is available here.
A pilot of MHPOD will be run at a number of NGO services in mid-2012. Expressions of interest are sought for participation in this pilot.
Although there are differences between the NGO sector and public mental health services, there are also many commonalities. Many workers from both sectors seek improved care and support for consumers, carers and families. Professional development is one avenue towards improved services, and the intention of the pilot is to assess whether MHPOD can be useful to workers in the NGO mental health sector.
The document below provides information to assist non-government mental health services to prepare and submit an expression of interest (EOI) to participate as a pilot site for the rollout of MHPOD to the non-government sector.
The submission date for the EOI is 9th March, 2012
Detailed information about the pilot is provided in the Expression of Interest document, able to be downloaded from this page.
Prospective EOI sites should ensure that they have carefully read the information provided in the Expression of Interest document, and then complete the Expression of Interest submission template for their response.
